Tarisayi Zvoma
Director : Public Relations & Marketing
Mrs Tarisayi Zvoma is the Public Relations & Marketing Director at SIRDC. She joined the SIRDC stable in 2007 as the Public Relations Manager of SIRTECH INVESTMENTS, a company that was jointly owned by SIRDC and the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. SIRTECH was later transferred to SIRDC in 2010. Mrs Zvoma holds a Masters degree in African History, and a B A (Hons) degree in History both acquired from the University of Zimbabwe. She also has a Diploma in Public Relations and Marketing (LCCI), Post Graduate Diploma in International Development Studies from the University of Oslo in Norway and a Post Graduate Certificate in Constitutional Law from the Bureau of Parliamentary Studies of India. Her work experience includes being a Teaching Assistant/Tutor at the University of Zimbabwe and a Research Assistant at the Agricultural Marketing Authority. She later joined the Parliament of Zimbabwe as a Research Officer and rose through the ranks to become the Deputy Chief Research Officer before being elevated to the position of Director of Public Education and Public Relations. The portfolio entailed managing the Public Education and Public Relations Department and public interactions, producing Parliament’s annual reports, compiling the Strategic Plan reports, local and international conference reports and other information disseminating publications. Mrs Zvoma has extensive experience in undertaking and managing Public Relations activities, corporate communications, advocacy, events management and media liaison. While she was working for the Parliament of Zimbabwe, she headed the team that set up the first 120 Parliament Constituency Information Centres around the country. In the course of her duties she was a leading member of the Parliament of Zimbabwe team that won a prize for best designed stand at the Harare Agricultural Show in 2006. She was also nominated for the marketer of the year award for 2005 and 2006 in the public institutions category by the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe. At SIRDC, as the Public Relations practitioner, she led an SIRDC team that scooped a trophy for the best stand that exhibited conservation practices at the 2018 edition of the Harare Agricultural Show. She was again part of the team whose pitch won the 2023 Marketers Association of Zimbabwe Exceptional Marketing Award (2nd Runner up) in the Corporate Social Responsibility category. Mrs Zvoma also won the Mentors Award at the Women in Public Relations, Communications and Marketing Annual Awards Ceremony held in September 2023.
