Established in February 1993 by the Government of Zimbabwe through the Research Act [Chapter 10:22] to carry out strategic Research & Development for the benefit of the manufacturing, service, agricultural as well as to commercialise the Research & Development outputs.


The Scientific and Industrial Research and Development Centre (SIRDC) represented by TTED Director Mr. Ambrose Kavu and FBTI Deputy Director Mr. Gibson Mandikuwaza has partnered with the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development under the Zimbabwe Agriculture Value Chain and Livelihoods Enhancement Project (ZAVaCLEP). Together, they are delivering intensive training to Chiredzi SMEs in agro-processing, value addition, quality assurance, food safety, process control, waste management, and business record-keeping to drive sustainable local economic growth.
