John Gumede

Mr. John Gumede is the Chief Security Officer at the Scientific and Industrial Research and Development Centre (SIRDC). He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Police and Security Studies from Bindura University of Science Education, as well as a Certificate in Basic Security. Prior to joining SIRDC in January 2025, he served as a Security Officer at the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service, where he gained extensive experience in the implementation of both protective and detective security measures. He was responsible for overseeing the protection of physical and digital assets, personnel, and data, safeguarding them from internal and external threats.
