Embracing the Second Republic mantra of leaving no one and no place behind, SIRDC and KOPIA are promoting the traditional grains production in areas with low seasonal rainfall. A field day was held on March 24 in Paye Village, Ward 14, Gwanda district, where a Demo plot with sorghum and pearl millet was showcased.together with plots of community members.
A grinding mill and thresher were donated to the community. to improve on traditional grain processing. Outstanding farmers received prizes including knapsack sprayers, a wheelbarrow, and an ox plough. Next season, the number of participating farmers will expand from 15 to 50.
