BOU spearheads large-scale commercialization of products as well as services. BOU conducts exhaustive market studies, develops bankable business plans, and creates market niches for products and services as well as establishing synergies with industry.

  • BOU tasks always entail costing products/processes, design improvements feedback for max value realization and crafting suitable business terms
  • The unit also promotes over 200 services spread across 12 institutes, 9 departments and three strategic business units (SBUs).
  • BOU has sound working relations with the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI), Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC), Institute of Directors Zimbabwe (IOD-Z)
  • It also gives inputs into the Regional Research Alliance (RRA) marketing and technology commercialization programmes
