Technology Transfer & Resource Mobilisation Unit

The Technology Transfer and Resource Mobilisation Unit (TTRMU) was created in 2024 by SIRDC to work through teams on the following tasks:

  • Technology transfer through special purpose vehicles (SPVs) or in partnership with interested parties in industry, commerce, academia or any legal entities
  • Dissemination of SIRDC intellectual property (IP) policy across employees as well as facilitation of IP inventory and capacity building among employees on commercialisation of the Centre’s IP
  • Facilitate both domestic and international linkages through agreements namely: Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Secrecy and Non-disclosure agreements (S/NDA), Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), Joint Venture Agreements, Contracts, among others
  • Facilitate Inhouse Capacity building on topical issues such IP, Stage Gate Process, Project Management
  • Resource mobilisation using developed marketing (from Head of Marketing) and business plans (Administration)
  • Conduct M&E and impact evaluation on the Centre’s interventions.
  • Collate trip reports for Cabinet Authorised tours
  • TT&RMU Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer
  • Works closely with the SIRDC Executive Directors, ZTS General Manager, Head of Marketing, Public Relations Director, Directors and Managers when facilitating linkages
  • Operates in Teams with membership drawn, based on suitability, from institutes/departments and strategic business units
  • The Executive authorises all external engagements
