SIRDC Wins Bronze at ZAS 2024

The Scientific and Industrial Research and Development Centre (SIRDC) participated at the 114th edition of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show (ZAS) where it came out 3rd in the State Enterprises category. ZAS was held from 26 to 31 August 2024 under the theme: “Cultivating Prosperity. Growing Business. Innovating for Change. Nurturing our Future”. The SIRDC theme was: “Research and Development for Business Growth and a Prosperous Future”.

SIRDC showcased numerous products, including foundry castings, packaged herbal teas and potted plants, maize seed, value added food crops products, fabricated machinery for peanut butter and silage making, among others. The highlight at the stand was the mobile metrology laboratory which offers calibration services in various disciplines, including mass, volume, dimensional, temperature, pressure, time and frequency, among others.

Another attraction at the stand were synopsis sessions on the topical Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) training that is sought after by many organisations and individuals. SIRDC’s Environmental Science Institute was sensitising visitors to the stand on what ESG is all about and many people showed great interest to attend the full training.
