Information Communication Technology

The Information and Communications Technology (ICT) department manages SIRDC's technological systems and infrastructure. The role of the Department is to ensure that the organization's technology is used efficiently, securely, and in line with the Centre’s goals.

The specific responsibilities of the ICT Department include the following:

  • ICT Hardware Support and Maintenance – providing first and second line hardware support for all ICT systems;
  • ICT Asset Register Maintenance – keeping a record of all ICT systems at the Centre;
  • SIRDC Website Maintenance – ensuring the Centre’s website is up-to-date at all times;
  • Help Desk – providing an internal and external user system for service requests for ICT hardware support and maintenance;
  • Cybersecurity – protecting the Centre’s ICT systems against cyber-attacks; and
  • E-Waste Management – ensuring the safe disposal of obsolete ICT equipment.
